Makahika OPC | 2-4 Night | School EOTC Programmes

170m Zip Line | 14m High Ropes Course | Survival Training | Problem Solving and Leadership

Join us now for Terms 2 & 3. Terms 1 & 4 are fully booked annually with 2000 students joining us.

Makahika’s clients are predominantly Year 5-8 students. Why? Our activities are just in the right challenge range; 9–12-year-olds still think camp is cool, so we love having happy Tamariki at camp; our/your teaching teams are not subjected to behaviours that go hand in hand with the dopamine withdrawals that we experience with the teenagers, and therefore our instructors (and your teachers) experience is just as joyful as your students; and better still, you can bring parents to camp to do the dishes!!

PROGRAMME EXAMPLE | (GROUPS ROTATE AROUND OUR 3 ACCOMMODATION LOCATIONS, 3 SEPARATE DAY PROGRAMMES)

Risk Disclosure, Safety Management Plans & Instructors

Makahika OPC runs a comprehensive Risk and Safety Management Programme. We enjoy the privilege of external annual auditing with AdventureMark; this ensures we ‘visit’ out activities, processes and emergency responses regularly. You can find us as a registered provider on the Work Safe NZ site - Accredited Adventure Activity Providers.

All adventurous activity contains an element of risk, both physical and mental. MOPC has endeavoured to recognise and mitigate risks for each activity. You will be actively encouraged to participate in this process.

All activities have a Risk Assessment Management form completed and available. You will be required to participate in the identification and mitigation of possible risk at MOPC.

Makahika OPC instructors are extraordinarily talented both in their skills within the experiential learning world and their knowledge of our processes and programmes. Most importantly, they love children (and adults), and enjoy their days filled with up to 120 students every day of terms 1 & 4.

Our instructors never leave! Makahika is privileged to lead a team of between 5 and 10 highly qualified instructors with fabulous personalities some who have been with us since 2006. The students and teachers leave with knowledge that they have been in safe and caring hands for the endurance of their annual camp.
