The Makahika team are handpicked, highly experienced instructors, industry qualified and extremely safety conscious with sparkling personalities.

Passionate about meeting the needs of all of our clients, we adapt our instructional style to accommodate the participants; recognising learning styles and personality types.

Qualifications range from Diploma's in Outdoor Education and/or are experienced NZOIA & MSC Bush-craft, Search and Rescue LANDSARNZ specialists, to degrees in Learning.

Makahika Outdoor Pursuit Centre runs a comprehensive Risk and Safety Management Programme.

All adventurous activity contains an element of risk, both physical and mental. 

Makahika has endeavoured to recognise and mitigate risks for each activity.

You will be actively encouraged to participate in this process and will be fully briefed during the booking of your camp of your obligations.

We are externally audited annually, under the Adventure Activities Act by AdventureMark.
