Permanent Programme Dates — Annually – First week of EVERY school holidays.
The first week of every school holidays (with the exception of December), a multi-level training and practice journey programme is run at Makahika OPC. The programme runs from Monday – Friday, and the students participate in 2 days of training and testing, a half day of trip planning and risk assessment, and between 2 & 2.5 days of practice journey tramp. Individual or school groups can book directly with MOPC for these programmes.
Pre-programmed School Partnership Programmes:
These are pre-confirmed dates (provided by the school) for multiple training, practice journey and qualifying expeditions. Our team will travel to locations of your choosing, on dates to meet your needs. We need a 10:1 student to instructor ratio for this partnership programme. We can support schools with up to 400 students participating in DofE, providing camping equipment, catering, and transport support options.
Individual ‘small group’ programmes:
Six or more students (friends or individuals) can contact Makahika OPC directly and we will provide an instructor either based from Makahika OPC or to a location of your choosing, for training, practice or qualifying journeys.
We can provide 24 hr ration packs for the tramp phase, tents, camping equipment, cooking equipment etc. These can be hired – pricing's on request.
